THREE BASIC FORMS AND PERSPECTIVE

Modern day physics gives four kinds of energy that animate the universe: the strong force, that binds together the particles of an atomic nucleus; the weak force, associated with the process of radioactive decay; gravity or attraction inherent among particles of matter and electromagnetism, the force derived from the presence, motion, and attraction of charged particles.

This last category is an excellent example for the understanding in Kabbalah of the spiritual circuitry of all creation. However, thousands of years before discovering electromagnetism during the eighteenth century ancient Kabbalist's held that the universe was permeated by spiritual forces among three terminals or columns. These can be viewed as positive, negative and earth in a power socket. As expressed in comparison with the ten sefirot and the columns in the tree of life, we have: a desire to give or share, a desire to receive and a desire to receive for the purpose of sharing.

Buddhism explains the existence of three universal truths; the truth of suffering, the truth of the end of suffering and the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering. Put simply, suffering exists it has a cause and it has an end.

The Hindu upanishad entitled 'Brihadaranyaka - What the Thunder Said' The Creator teaches to three kinds of life, that the heavenly voice of thunder repeats "Da-da-da!" in association with "Be self-controlled! Give! Be compassionate!"

In geometry there are three basic shapes: a square, a triangle, and a circle. All other shapes are derived from these. The square stands for form and solidity, the basis of applied control. The triangle represents the generation of energy and initiative; it is the most stable physical posture. The circle symbolises unification, serenity and perfection; it is the source of unlimited techniques. In considering the idea we all come from many cultures, creeds and backgrounds. perspective can have a big difference on what we see.
